Invisible Fence Collar and Training Method

If you're looking into invisible fencing for your best friend, you'll also need to look into invisible fence collars. It's important that you understand that especially during the early training, that this collar is on your dog at all times. It's also necessary to make sure that this collar is going to fit your dog comfortably and be the appropriate size for the size of your dog.

Invisible fencing collars come in a variety of styles and sizes. It's important that you have the appropriate sized collar for your dog, as there's a mechanism on the collar that alerts the dog they're getting close to the invisible fence line. If you have a collar that is too small, your dog may misinterpret the signals and break his training. Of course, a large dog collar is not going to fit your toy breed and it will actually weigh them down to the point where they may not move. In other words, make sure you're getting the appropriate sized dog collar for the size of your dog.

The invisible fencing collar actually works by emitting a beep that your dog can hear as they approach the invisible fence line. This beep alerts them that they're getting to close, as they get closer the beat can get more insistent, to the point where it's actually painful. This is why it's necessary to make sure that your invisible fence collar is working properly, has the correct size batteries, and is emitting its signal for your dog to learn how to stay in its area. The invisible fencing system is an easily trainable method, but if you don't put the collar on every time they head out the door, the training isn't going to work very well.

Periodically, you'll need to check your invisible fence collar to make sure it's working properly. You can walk slowly and surely towards the fence line listening for a beep and check your batteries with the collar in hand. If you notice that your dog is not paying attention to the fence line, perhaps the batteries are dead. In other words, checking the battery on your invisible fence collar is just as important as making sure that the rest of the system is working properly.

Once your dog is fully trained, you may find that you don't need the collar anymore. It's important to periodically put the collar on your dog in order to refresh the dog's opinion of the invisible fence.

The invisible fencing system is a wonder to behold and can keep your dog safely contained and out of trouble. Remember, many veterinarian bills are because the dog went off the property, and with the invisible fencing system and the invisible fencing collars you can make sure that you're not having unnecessary heart felt anguish or amazingly large veterinarian bills.
